Venezuela’s Supreme Court has been attacked by grenades dropped from a helicopter in what President Nicolás Maduro called a “terrorist attack”. Footage on social media shows a police helicopter circling over the city before shots and a loud bang are heard. Ghana has failed to meet the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking in persons but has escaped a downgrade, a new report released by the U.S. Department of State has revealed. According to the 2017 Trafficking in Persons (TIP) report released Tuesday, though Ghana made some efforts, it did not demonstrate increasing efforts compared to the previous reporting period of 2016. Former Food and Agric minister, Nii Amansah Namoale, has hit out at the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) over its seeming laxity to prosecute fake drug and food dealers in the country. The 12 persons being held for attacking and vandalizing the Somanya Police station and office of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the town have been granted GHC70,000 each with two sureties.
