The Student Representative Council of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), has asked 22 students who have been rusticated to bin the school’s directive. The SRC is asking the affected students not to heed the directive by the school’s authorities because the SRC, which is the umbrella body of all students, was not informed about the decision before the university took that final action and has also failed to communicate directly with the students involved. World Rugby Council has approved the application by the Ghana Rugby Football Union as a full member, bringing the total number to 104 full members and 17 associates. The Union became an associate member of World Rugby in April 2004 but a full member of Rugby Africa, the regional association. Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Peter Amewu, has caused the arrest of four expatriates operating an illegal gold mine at Tontokrom in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region. The devastation from illegal small scale mining at Fahiakobo, a notorious galamsey community in the Amansie Central District, on Monday forced the Ashanti regional minister to abandon inspection of roads in the area. A total of 35 principal and senior revenue officers of the Ghana Revenue Authority have been transferred from their various duty posts across the country to the Tema Collection point.
