One person has been confirmed dead and five houses burnt in Friday’s chieftaincy clash at Portor near Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo Region, an attack that has rendered the small community a ghost town. A group of youth belonging to the New Patriotic Party in Kpando in the Volta Region is protesting against the selection and possible nomination of one Ernest Quist as the Chief Executive for the Kpando Municipal Assembly. One of Ghana’s labour unions, the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU), has expressed satisfaction with the government’s 2017 budget statement presented to parliament on Thursday.
