Former President John Agyekum Kufour has seemingly endorsed ex-president John Mahama’s decision to choose a particular bungalow where he wants to stay as part of his retirement package. Basic schools across the nation re-opened on Tuesday after a relatively long vacation. Some schools had proceeded on vacation for the December 7 elections while others went on break during the period but returned to break proper for the Christmas festivities. On Monday, most pupils were seen tidying up their classrooms in time for re-open. Most of them were in classrooms on Tuesday for the start of the second term of the 2016/2017 academic year. Gambian Information Minister Sheriff Bojang has resigned to protest against President Yahya Jammeh’s refusal to accept defeat in last month’s presidential election, reports say.
