Several fuel tankers and other properties were consumed by a ravaging fire at a tanker yard near the Ashaiman Timber Market Sunday afternoon. It is not clear what actually caused the fire, but preliminary investigations by the Ghana National Fire Service suggest that it might have been caused by a transfer of fuel from one tanker to another. A total of 12 tankers out of the about 26 in the yard were completely burnt with fire fighters going through a tough time to bring the inferno under control. This forms part of a mass disconnection exercise the ECG is embarking on to retrieve all the debts owed by customers.
