Over the years I have travelled the world in search of a happy and fulfilling life, and again and again it eludes me. Today, I sit back to meditate, and I realised that I changed nothing to get to my goal. My thoughts, habits, attitudes and actions have only reinforced one thing; my years are destined to look like the previous ones. So I ask myself, what can I do differently? What can I do to live a happy and fulfilling life? What is my truth and my happiness? Perhaps, you face the same situation. This is not the end…
The Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU) wants the Akufo-Addo government to revitalize existing factories before rolling out the one-district, one -factory policy. General Secretary of the Union, Solomon Kotei, said there are existing factories in the country which are struggling to find their feed, which he is of the view should be given some financial injection to be competitive to meet growing demands. “If there are existing factories which have not actually found their feet, and they are struggling to survive, are we going to have reinjection of some investments into these businesses or whiles they are there struggling …

The minority members in parliament have asked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to come clean on whether his government intends to use proceeds from the reserved oil revenue to finance its much touted free senior high school programme. According to the MPs, there is “total confusion” on the issue considering the conflicting statements made by two of his ministers – Senior Minister Yaw Osafo-Maafo and Finance Minister Ken Ofori Attah- regarding the same issue. Mr Osafo-Maafo this week revealed that the government intends to review the Heritage Fund component of the Act to finance the audacious free education programme of…
A civil society group in the oil sector has welcomed government’s decision not to use the Heritage Fund to finance its proposed free Senior High School programme. An endowment reserve, the Fund, which is 9 per cent of petroleum revenues, was established by the PRMA to support the development of Ghana’s future generations when the country’s petroleum reserves are depleted. But the Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo this week revealed that the government intends to review the Heritage Fund component of the Act (893) to finance the audacious free education programme of the Akufo-Addo government. Many Ghanaians have questioned the…

The vehicles, two Toyota Land Cruiser V8s and three Nissan Hard Body Pick-ups, were seized from the politician’s house in Tema…
Lands and Natural Resources minister, John Peter Amewu, has decried the wanton delays in land title acquisition in the country, and charged the Lands Commission to up its game. He condemned the practice where some staff of the Commission deliberately delay documents, sometimes for three years, in order to get personal compensation from those accessing the service. “People intentionally delay processes for others to work on. Others keep them in for personal benefits. It can’t continue that way. It will not benefit you, it will not benefit me, it will not benefit our unborn generation. What would benefit an individual…
Introduction This happens to be the first in the series of articles that I set to produce on education for this year. And on that score, I salute the Manhyia South MP, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, on his appointment as the new Education Minister of our Republic. It is appropriate for us as teachers, education workers, parents, students, citizens and stakeholders to always remind ourselves of pertinent education acts, policies and programmes, such as the 2008 Education Act 778, and to work hard for their growth. Society is dynamic, hence, the need for our nation’s education system to be as…
