Ghana has been drawn in Group F in qualifiers for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Cameroon. The draw, which was held on Thursday, pitched the Black Stars against Ethiopia, Sierra Leone and Kenya. Forty-eight teams were put in 12 groups of four. Group winners will automatically qualify for the tournament while four best second-placed sides also join them for the tourney. The president, Nana Akufo Addo has indicated that his nominees for regional minister positions would be announced after January 24 when parliament resumes. According to the president the names of the persons to occupy these positions have already been penciled but would be handed to parliament which is currently on recess. The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested five persons who attempted to stop toll operations in the Central Business District and Makola Market in Accra on Thursday. A radio station in Cameroon’s English-speaking city of Bamenda has been closed down. A police squad visited the offices of Radio Hot Cocoa and ordered that it stop operations. Officials accuse the station of using interactive programmes to stir up tension among Anglophone listeners, who often complain that they face discrimination.
