Consumers of petroleum products should brace themselves to pay more at the pumps as the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) suggests increment in fuel prices. According to COPEC, the increase would be between 9 and 12 percent, a situation the chamber describes as worrying. The Ghana Education Service (GES) has denied rumours that it has extended the reopening date of Senior High Schools across the country. A statement purported to come from the GES and circulated on social media claimed Thursday that the reopening date of January 5, 2017 had been pushed to January 15. “We have not extended the reopening date,” Rev. Energy expert, Kwadwo Opoku, has rejected President John Mahama’s claim that his government has fixed Ghana’s energy crisis, which culminated in erratic electricity supply for years.
