Retired Justice of the Supreme Court Clemence Honyenuga says he will continue to hear the trial of former COCOBOD CEO, Dr Stephen Opuni, despite retiring as a judge two months ago. He made this declaration when he delivered his ruling on an application by lawyers for Dr Opuni. Lead Counsel Samuel Codjoe had urged the Judge to restrain himself from hearing the matter. Kenya’s Directorate of Criminal Investigations, DCI, says it has rescued an 8-yr-old boy who was kidnapped by his father on November 12 and used to demand for a ransom of Sh50,000 from his wife. Global streaming service, Netflix, said it had invested over $40 million in the Nigerian film industry from 2016 to 2022. Speaking at a Digital Content Regulation Conference in Lagos, Nigeria, Ms Shola Sanni, Director of Public Policy for Sub-Saharan Africa, Netflix, said the investments were spent on converting local film titles, capacity building and infrastructure development in the industry.
