Curtis James Jackson III, American rapper and producer popularly known as 50 Cent, has announced plans to release a movie series based on notorious Nigerian internet fraudster, Ramon Abass. Best known as Hushpuppi, Abass was arrested in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates in June 2020, for defrauding over 1.9 million people, majority of whom were Americans. Mr Appiah Kubi, a cold store operator at Dormaa-Ahenkro, has appealed to the government to restrict and eliminate black market currency operators to prevent hoarding of foreign currencies. The Defence Minister, Dominic Nitiwul, has revealed that an amount of 400 million dollars is needed on a monthly basis to import fuel into the country. The Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations has referred the three striking teacher unions to the National Labour Commission (NLC). The unions have embarked on an industrial action over the appointment of the new Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES). They insist Dr. Nkansah is not an educationist but rather a banker. However, a second meeting between the unions and the Ministry involved on Monday ended in a stalemate. The education sector of the country is currently at a standstill as teachers in public kindergarten, primary, JHS, SHS, and university are all on strike for various reasons. The Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition (GNECC) is attributing the labour unrest in the sector to the lack of effective communication between government, through the Education Ministry, and teacher unions.
