All the political parties in Ghana have been given copies of the voters register to be used for the December 7 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections, Dr Bossman Asare, a Deputy Commissioner at the Electoral Commission (EC) has said. A former Mayor of Accra during the Rawlings administration, Mr Nat Nunoo Amarteifio has said the late former president Jerry John Rawlings always joined his men on the field to work in order to achieve results. According to him, Mr Rawlings was not just interested in sitting in the office and issuing instructions to his appointees, rather, he supported them in person whenever necessary. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is challenging the Africa Education Watch to provide evidence that over 60,000 students who sat for the West Africa Senior Schools Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) have had their results withheld. City authorities have ordered work on an ongoing six-storey building project in Ashaley Botwe, a suburb of Accra in the Adentan Municipality, to be stopped following the failure of the developers to obtain a permit before commencing the project. Residents of the area said the building poses a danger to them if immediate steps are not taken to tackle the issue. Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana in charge of Corporate Services, Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, has brushed aside allegations by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the commission is scheming to overprint ballot papers for the December 7 polls.
