The Board and Management of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) have dismissed accusations made by some workers of the refinery who are members of the Union of Commerce, Industry and Finance (UNICOF) and the General Transport, Petroleum and Chemical Workers Union. Three people on board a commercial tricycle, also known as Pragia, were burnt to death after their vehicle collided with a tipper truck Thursday night at Anloga Junction in the Ashanti Region. The two got stuck after the driver of the truck lost control and run over the tricycle, according to an eyewitness. The collision ignited a combustion, causing the trapped occupants of the tricycle to be burnt beyond recognition. Helpless passers-by only witnessed the sad situation. The Director of the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) COP Ken Yeboah has revealed that the ammunitions that were impounded by the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) have turned out to be gas pistols. This was after a close examination of the weapons, he said. The Customs Division of the GRA impounded the consignment on Friday October 9 and said they contained pistols that have been illegally imported from Turkey. The former Chief Executive Officer of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Adjenim Boateng Adjei, has been suspended from the Ghana Institute of Procurement and Supply (GIPS). This comes after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo terminated, with immediate effect, his appointment.
