Lawyers for the Member of Parliament (MP)for the Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, have filed an application at the Supreme Court to prohibit the high Court from sitting on the contempt charges leveled against him. Ghanaians are advised to ignore claims the government has reportedly suspended the implementation of the law banning the importation of salvaged cars into Ghana. The Public Relations Officer of the Volta River Authority (VRA), David Prah, has revealed that the Authority is currently putting in place plans to enable it relocate settlers along the White Volta in the North East Region to protect them against floods and also the spillage of the Bagre Dam. Former workers of the banks that collapsed during the banking sector clean-up exercise undertaken by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) are now better of after receiving their severance packages, a Deputy Minister of Finance, Charles Adu Boahen, has said. He explained that although the banking sector looked rosy before the clean-up exercise, a lot of the workers were actually suffering because they had gone months without being paid salaries.
