Pressure group Progressive Akyem Citizens has asked Akyem to stop attacking the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former president John Mahama over his ‘Akyem Sakawa boys’ post on Facebook. The Automobile Dealers Union of Ghana has welcomed of the opposition National Democratic Congress’ manifesto promise of scrapping the Customs (Amendment) Act when elected into power. The Minister of Transport, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, wants the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament to write off an amount of €165,000 as bad debt from the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) books. According to the 2017 report of the Auditor General on public boards, GPHA in 2011 entered into an agreement with an offshore company, SCHEEPSBOUW NOORD, for the construction and delivery of Pilot Launch Boat. The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that the provisional exhibition of the newly compiled voters register will start September 18. In a statement, the commission noted the exercise is in accordance with law. “In accordance with Regulation 23(1) of C.I 91 of the Public Elections (Registration of Voters) Regulations 2016. The Electoral Commission will exhibit the Provisional Voters Register for inspection by Voters at all Polling Stations throughout the count. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has cut the sod for the commencement of construction of the town roads in Tuobodom in the Techiman North constituency of the Bono East Region.
