Results of the second wave of the Ghana Election Poll which ran online from July 1 to August 1, 2020, via the renowned market research firm MSI-ACI, has found the majority of respondents in favour of allowing Ghanaians abroad to be allowed to register and vote in the 2020 general elections. Former GFA Exco member Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer says he will not seek further redress after his appeal against his debarment from contesting the 2019 GFA presidential elections was dismissed. The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has assured that the device approved for use at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) is fit for purpose and the Authority shall continue to monitor its performance in accordance with regulatory requirements. The FDA’s statement comes after Dr. Kofi Bonney of the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research raised issues with the device being used for the testing at the airport. The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has asked the government to pay the debt owed the state’s oil management company. The GNPC says, at the moment, it is having challenges especially with cash flow in this period of the coronavirus pandemic, hence the government must prioritise the payment of its debt. Comrade Duch, a former senior figure of the Khmer Rouge convicted of crimes against humanity in Cambodia, has died. He was serving a life term after being sentenced by a UN-backed court. Kaing Guek Eav, known as Comrade Duch, ran the notorious Tuol Sleng prison where thousands of people were tortured and murdered in the late 1970s. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has dismissed football administrator Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer’s appeal over his disqualification from the 2019 GFA Presidential elections.
