Ghanaian musician, politician and leader of The People’s Project (TPP) movement, Kwame Asare Obeng (A-Plus), says President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has failed on his one-village one-dam promise to Ghanaians. Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have called for investigations into the assault of TV3 reporters by soldiers. A Deputy Communications Director of the NPP, Kamal-Deen Abdulai and a member of NDC’s Communications Team of the NDC, Fred Agbenyo, are of the view that no one can take the laws into their hands and assault people without being punished.  The Executive Director of the Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA),Mensah Thompson, has said due process was not followed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in dismissing their petition for the removal of the chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana, Jean Mensa. ASEPA petitioned Akufo-Addo on June 9, for the removal of Mrs Mensa, for failing to declare her assets in accordance with Article 286 of the 1992 Constitution. The UK government has signed deals for a further 90 million doses of coronavirus vaccine. The vaccines are being developed by the Belgian pharmaceutical company Janssen and the US biotech company Novavax. It means the UK has placed orders for six experimental vaccines, taking its potential stockpile to 340 million doses. In theory, there should be enough for everyone in the UK to get five doses. President of the Nigerian Traders Association Chuku Emeka has revealed that they will be meeting with officials at the Ministry of Trade and Industry to consider reopening their closed shops at Circle. The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced on Thursday, August 13 that the active Covid-19 cases in Ghana have dropped to 1,906. This was after 39,718 persons, who got infected by the virus, clinically recovered and were discharged, according to the GHS. In total, Ghana has recorded 41,847 coronavirus cases.
