The government of Ghana has apologised to the Nigeria High Commission in Ghana following the demolition of a storey building on its premises said to be at the centre of a land litigation. The building was demolished at the weekend. Some men said to be armed with the assistance of a bulldozer broke through the locked gate and pulled down parts of a one-storey building which was still under construction on the compound. Water supply to parts of Accra will be cut from Tuesday as the Ghana Water Company Limited shuts down its water treatment plant at the Weija Headworks for repair works. A statement from the company Monday said the shutdown is to enable its engineers work on the raw water pipeline. It will also afford the Accra West Region the opportunity to carry out repairs and maintenance work on defective valves on the main transmission lines. About 4,500 basic schools in the Greater Accra Region are expected to be disinfected by Zoomlion Ghana Limited. The exercise, which covers public and private basic schools, began on Monday in the Ablekuma North Municipality.
