Two people who fled a quarantine centre in Kenya have been arrested at a bar where they were found drinking despite social distancing regulations. They were among dozens of people filmed jumping over a wall of the facility in the capital, Nairobi, drawing public condemnation. The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has justified the decision to donate 250,000 to the Covid-19 National Trust Fund. Some Ghanaians have criticized the Authority for the April 22 gesture aimed at supporting the government’s fight against the deadly novel coronavirus in the country. One policeman on Thursday engaged two armed robbers in a shootout leading to the death of one after they trailed and robbed two businessmen of 123,000 cedis cashed from the Tema Community One Zenith Bank branch. A 34-year-old man, Vincent Adjei, described by the Police as the ring leader in the murder of the Assembly member for Sogakope South, Mawutor Adzahli, and four other alleged accomplices have been remanded to prison custody.
