The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has unveiled 13 professionals as a response team to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the flagbearer of the party, John Dramani Mahama, the team will lead the party’s public advocacy and sensitization activities on the COVID-19, while also collaborating with the government, if need be, on the fight against the pandemic. Effective midnight, Sunday March 22, Ghana will close all its borders to human movement in and out of the country as a way of mitigating the spread of the coronavirus which the country has so far recorded 21 confirmed cases. A 35-year-old Italian returnee has been isolated by authorities at the Damongo Government Hospital in the Savannah Region after he allegedly showed symptoms of COVID-19. Samples of the man has also been taken to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for further assessment. The returnee is believed to have arrived in the country on February 28. The one-million Euros cold storage facility built to address post-harvest fish losses in the Ningo-Prampram District of the Greater Accra Region is to reopen in about a week, on the directive of the Government. The Spanish FAD-sponsored refrigeration facility comprising cold storerooms, a freezing tunnel, an ice bin, and a flake ice factory, was closed about four years ago as a result of unpaid electricity bills.
