The government has selected a strategic investor to revamp the Komenda Sugar Development Factory in the Central Region.The investor, Park Agrotech Ghana Limited, a Ghanaian-Indian company, will inject $28 million into the factory between 2020 and 2023. The Ghana-based company is a subsidiary of the Skylark Group of Companies of India, one of the largest integrated farming businesses in India. Hope Olusegun Aroke carried out a million-dollar fraud while serving a 24-year jail sentence – for fraud. He had access to a mobile phone and the internet. The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has assured that there would be constant electricity supply to Ghanaians before, during and after the 2019 Christmas festivities. The ECG says it is aware that consumption of electricity increased during such celebrations so its engineers are on standby to ensure every challenge is addressed immediately. The assurance comes in the wake of the nationwide blackout on Tuesday, November 26. The ECG blamed the widespread blackout on technical challenges, saying, the challenges were “beyond its control”. Actress Yvonne Okoro has expressed unhappiness about the dwindling state of the movie industry in Ghana. According to the award winning actress, movie productions keep dipping due to lack of investors, infrastructure and unity in the industry. “We are from an industry that was churning out movies regularly until now that we do three or five productions a year, and this is done by the actors themselves,” Yvonne Okoro said in an interview with 3news.
