The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) says it is working with the Office of the Attorney-General to bring suspect Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah before a weekend court, in line with constitutional timeframes governing bail. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has invited the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga, to participate in the Northern Peace Conference scheduled for October 26 to 27, 2026, in Tamale. The two-day conference, to be held at the Global Dreams Hotel, is being organised by the UNDP in partnership with the Parliamentary Northern Caucus, the National Peace Council and the Northern Development Authority. President John Dramani Mahama has directed Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in regions where he has already undertaken the Presidential Accountability Series to organise corresponding accountability engagements within their respective jurisdictions. Okaikwei Central Member of Parliament (MP) Patrick Boamah has alleged that Ghana was close to settling two tax disputes with Tullow Ghana Limited for about US$150 million before the latest arbitral ruling in favour of the country.
