The Confederation of African Football (CA) has said it is ready to assist the Egyptian Football Association to search for the missing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) trophy.
Former Egyptian Football Association Vice President, Ahmed Shobier, revealed on Friday September 4 that the country’s AFCON trophy they won for keeps after an impressive show in 2006, 2008 and 2010 tournaments, was missing.
Reacting to the news on their official twitter account, CAF assured the Egyptian Football Association oftheir support in search of the trophy.
“CAF has learnt with shock reports of missing AFCON trophies from the Egyptian Football Association secretariat. Our doors are open and the @EFA can count on our support in the search for the priceless memorabilia,” the statement said.
