Ghana’s Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) on Wednesday received a 15-member delegation from various Tanzanian institutions as part of efforts to deepen cooperation in Africa’s mining sector.
The visit, held on January 21, 2026, aimed to provide an opportunity for experience-sharing on governance structures within Ghana’s mining industry, with particular emphasis on capacity building, regulatory oversight and professional networking.
Officials said the engagement allowed Ghana to present the evolution of the EPA, its regulatory frameworks, environmental oversight mechanisms and institutional mandate guiding the management of natural resources.
As two of Africa’s leading mining nations, the interaction was described as a valuable platform for mutual learning, reinforcing the importance of strong governance systems and collaboration in promoting sustainable and responsible mining across the continent.
