The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Development Company last Friday signed the book of condolence of the late former United Nations Secretary General, Kofi Annan, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Odame Antwi described Busumuru Annan as a peace-loving man who had Ghana at heart.
Coincidentally, Kofi Annan served as a Managing Director of the Ghana Tourism Development Company between 1974 and 1976.
Mr Antwi said Mr Annan was a tourism icon of this country who after leaving the Company to the UN still shone a great light on his country with his dedication to global cause.
Mr Antwi believes Ghanaians can emulate this and serve as great ambassadors of this country in the same way Mr Annan dedicated himself to the world.
The Ghana Tourism Development Company is the commercial wing of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture established to lead in tourism investments and infrastructure developments in the sector.
It was set up in 1972 with the former United Nations Secretary as its Managing Director for two years.
