The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has announced power supply interruptions on Sunday due to the next phase of work on the damaged Tema-Achimota transmission line.
The transmission line was damaged due to a tanker explosion nearby.
The accident resulted most parts of the country plunged into darkness.
The state’s power-production company noted that the repair works will be carried out on Sunday, August 23 from 3:00am to 6:00pm.
Our engineers and technical teams will use this period to safely undertake the remaining work to restore the integrity of the transmission line,” it noted in a statement on Saturday.
It added: “To facilitate the replacement works and ensure the safety of personnel and the public, power supply to some locations in the Greater Accra Region will be interrupted during the period of work.”
GRIDCo apologised for the inconvenience the interruption will cause, requesting the “patience, understanding and cooperation of the public as GRIDCo works progressively to complete this critical work“.
