Some suspected members of the terrorist group, ISIS, have been arrested by the Odorkor Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service.
Suspects Ismail Ali Musah, 31 and Osman Alhassan, 33, a Malian were arrested at the KATA Hostel near Nyamekye.
So far, a total of seven hand grenades (bombs) have been retrieved by the police.
The police have also mounted a serious search for some ammunition the suspects admitted have already been sold out.
“During interrogation suspects admitted having sold some arms and ammunition into the Ghanaian community already,” 3news.com gathered from the police on Monday.
“Efforts under way to extend investigations to stated or mentioned communities for retrieval of such arms and ammunition and arrest of the buyers,” the police said.
According to the police, the Odorkor Divisional Command upon a tipoff conducted operation on January 15, 2018 at Agape Down in Accra and arrested a 30-year-old Abdul Karim.
The police have described the suspect as “a notorious land guard and armed robber with seven (7) pieces of hand grenades (bomb)”.
Suspect Abdul Karim led police to KATA Hostel were the other two were arrested.
