A 19-year-old junior high student is in the grips of the Eastern Regional Police over the disappearance of his girlfriend three weeks ago in a case that the Police are treating as kidnapping.
20-year-old Georgina Ama Amenyo, a third year junior high student, was said to have sneaked out of her parent’s home at Anamase near Achiase, to her boyfriend’s home at Akim Manso in the Eastern Region.
After days went by without returning, mother of the girl on January 24 managed to trace the boyfriend to his house at Akim Manso.
The Police say though the boyfriend, Joseph Prah, admitted to hosting Georgina on the said date, he claimed to have seen her off the following day to go home.
“He denied knowledge of whereabouts of Georgina and insisted that he saw her off home on Sunday 13/01/19” the Police said.

But Amenyo has to date not been seen.
A search conducted in the suspect’s room upon his arrest led to the retrieval of Georgina’s brassier, cover cloth and a pair of shoes.
Prah was put before the Akim Swedru Circuit Court and has been remanded into police custody to assist in further investigations into the case.
He is to appear again before the court on February 11
