After ten weeks of stiff but exhilarating competition and exhibition of vocal prowess, the day of reward finally came for finalists of Season 5 of TV3 Celebrations, and ‘OK’ became the toast of all.
On Sunday, February 17, 2019, the auditorium of the Charismatic Evangelistic Ministry came alive as all four finalists gave off their best show, treating patrons to electrifying performances.
But at the end of the night, the winning crown fell on ‘OK’ all the way from the Agona Swedru Mozama Disco Christo Church who were adjudged winners of this year’s competition.
They beat off stiff competition from Royalty, Psalters, and Chord to emerge winners after a night of fireworks of praise, worship and soothing gospel tunes.
For their prize package, they walked home with a cash of GHȻ15,000.
Royalty came second walking away with GHȻ10,000 , Chord came third and received GHȻ8,000, followed by Psalters who finished fourth on the night getting GHȻ5,000 as a reward.
This year’s Celebrations journey kicked off with ten contestants who all fell off the road, leaving four finalists to compete for the ultimate.
The Grand Finale got off with a ministration from renowned gospel musician, Nii Okai and the LIC choir who treated the audience to a soulful worship and an electrifying praise performance.
Chord were the first group to mount the stage in the first part of performances dubbed the ‘Task session’, which saw each group perform Twi medley selected by judges.
They were followed by OK, Psalters and Royalty who all gave off the best of performances for the first session.
The second part of performances saw each of the four groups perform songs of their choice, and this part saw OK kick things off followed by Chord who made quite an entry coming in as security personnel clad in an outfit to suit their stage appearance as they marched onto the stage.
Their song matched their outfit and entry, as they sang about fighting for victory in the Lord.
Chord was followed by Royalty who came through with a praise medley followed by Psalters who crowned the second and final part of performances.
Winners of Celebrations Season 4 also came through with a performance.
Award-winning Gospel musician, Gifty Osei was at hand with her exciting performance thrilling patrons to hits after hits,as the whole auditorium was charged with everyone on their feet dancing in praise.
At the end of the night, certificates of participation were presented to all the ten contestants who took part in this year’s competition.
