Legon Cities forward Asamoah Gyan has blamed the club’s poor start to the Ghana Premier League (GPL) season on the attitude of the players.
The Royals are without a win after two games in the topflight league.
This has led to the dismissal of their head coach Goran Barjaktarevic with Bashiru Hayford coming in to replace him.
Gyan, however, thinks the players’ approach to the games is not the best and must change.
“For me, I think it is something about our attitude. We haven’t given enough and I think and we have had couple of meetings and everybody has agreed to [do something] about our attitude and approaching games.
“It is very unfortunate that we have played two games and we have gotten one point from it. It happens sometimes but what we need to do is to show our attitude, our aggression on the field that we want to win games and that is how we can win games,” he told the club’s media team.
The former Sunderland attacker further identified that their build up “is very slow”.
“We’re struggling offensively, we don’t create chances enough, and that is what we are working on. Everything depends on our training so we [are] working on our weak point and everything so we make sure we can exhibit it on the field of play on matchday.”
Legon Cities will host Medeama Sporting Club in Week 3 of the Ghana Premier League and will be hoping to get their first win of the season.
Asamoah Gyan is yet to play in a competitive game for the club.
