Ghana’s coronavirus cases have risen to 8,070 as at Sunday, May 31.
Out of this, 2,947 have recovered with 36 deaths, leaving 5,087 active cases under various treatment regimes.
These were made known by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his 10th update on government’s measures taken to stem the spread of the viral disease.
Ghana first recorded its two index cases of the virus on Thursday, March 12, triggering measures by government to slow the spread of the disease.
The country has since recorded fluctuations in cases.
Despite an assurance by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) that Ghana had reached the peak of the disease in April, cases continued to be recorded.
So far, 218,425 tests have been conducted.
Thirteen patients are currently severely ill and three are in critical conditions. One is on a ventilator.
