#MentorReloaded: Fans treated to Afropop tunes by contestants

African tunes dominated Sunday night’s performances on TV3 Mentor Reloaded when all 16 contestants appeared on stage to perform Afropop songs by some African artistes.

After performing in teams of four, each of the contestants took turns to perform songs originally recorded by some African artistes, mostly from Ghana and Nigeria.

Team Bessa Simons kick started the night’s individual performances with Frema Baby singing Nigerian songstress, Yemi Alade’s Johnny with all the energy that usually characterizes the original singer’s act.

Kobi Kobbs was next as he performed KiDi’s Thunder.

Rapper, Kweku Darlington took after another rapper, performing Medikal’s hit song ‘Too Risky.

The last member of Team Bessa Simons was Dufie who performed Stonebwoy’s ‘Higher’.

From Team Bessa Simons, the mantle dropped on Team Appietus where Yaw Blvck raised the curtains with a performance of King Promise’s ‘Abena’.

Bennada came up next with Simi’s ‘Joromi’.

As usual, the Fante rapper, Chichiz came upstage rapping his own lines to Tulenkey’s ‘F*ckboy’ instrumentals.

Lastly from Team Appietus was Sam Bryt who performed Krymi’s ‘Dede’.

Myka was the first to perform from Team Edem as he sang Davido’s ‘Aye’.

Rudeboy’s ‘Reason with Me’ was performed by Jedy.

JEDY

Taabea came through with a soothing performance of Chidinma’s ‘Falling in Love’.

Last but not the least from Team Edem, Eli performed PSquare’s old classic ‘No One Like You’.

Team Adina was the last to perform, as Missy began that set of performance with MzVee’s ‘Sing My Name’.

MISSY

Optional King performed his own rendition of Medikal’s ‘Ayekoo’.

OPTIONAL KING

Aemma performed MzVee’s ‘Come and See my Moda’.

AEMMA

The final performance for the night was from Evance who performed Kwesi Arthur’s ‘Don’t Keep me Waiting’.

Mentor Reloaded airs every Sunday at 8:00p.m on TV3 and is live on all social media platforms of the station.
