The Speaker of Parliament on Wednesday led leadership of the House to the 37 Military Hospital to visit the injured from the deadly stampede at the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) recruitment exercise.
Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin had expressed condolences to the bereaved family and called for proper measures to forestall such occurrence in the future.
He made a donation of GH¢100,000 to help in footing the medical bills of those on admission.

He said the gesture is a token of Parliament’s solidarity with the victims and a demonstration of the House’s commitment to the welfare of citizens affected by the tragedy.
He was joined by the Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga, former Defence Minister and Member for Bimbilla Dominic Nitiwul, the clerk of Parliament and some female MPs.
