The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has arrested Wendell Nana Yaw Yeboah following a petition concerning false galamsey claims submitted by Mr. Daniel Sasu Omari and two others on behalf of the Ashanti, Eastern, and Western Regional Ministers.
The suspect is currently in police custody and is expected to appear in court tomorrow, Thursday, November 27, 2025, to face charges related to the petition.
Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, Public Relations Officer for the CID, confirmed the arrest and assured the public that investigations are ongoing to ensure accountability.
The CID continues to urge citizens to provide credible information on illegal mining activities and related false claims, reinforcing efforts to combat galamsey and uphold law and order.
