Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has announced the opening of an overflow car park to manage increased passenger traffic during the Christmas travel season.
The additional parking facility, located adjacent to the existing Terminal 3 (T3) car park at Kotoka International Airport, offers about 300 extra parking bays. The move is aimed at easing congestion and improving convenience for passengers, visitors and airport users during one of the busiest periods of the year.
GACL said the overflow car park will complement existing parking arrangements and help ensure smoother vehicular movement around the terminal area. To assist motorists, parking attendants will be stationed along access routes to guide drivers to the designated overflow spaces as they approach the airport.
The company noted that the initiative forms part of its commitment to enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency, particularly during peak travel periods such as the Christmas holidays.
GACL encouraged passengers and visitors to follow the directions of parking officials and plan ahead to avoid delays.
“GACL remains focused on working to serve the needs of airport users better,” the company said.
