Ghana Premier League champions Bibiani Goldstars SC have announced the appointment of Swiss national Markus Schmid Fritz as the new Head Coach.
Schmid takes over from Nana Yaw Amankwah, who has been temporary charge since the sacking of Stephen Frimpong Manso after the first-leg home loss to JS Kabylie in the CAF Champions League.
The club said the new coach comes with “deep experience at the highest levels of the game”.
He has previously worked as an assistant coach with Tottenham Hotspur, FC Basel, and the Austria national team before later serving as Head Coach of New Zealand national team.
In Ghana, most recently, he played a key role in guiding Kotoku Royals to promotion into the Ghana Premier League.
A statement announcing Schmid Fritz’s announcement said it is the beginning of “an exciting new chapter focused on ambition, steady growth, and long-term success”.
“We’re glad to have you with us.”
