A 23-year-old man has been arrested by the Jasikan District Police in connection with the murder of his father at Likpe Abrani in the Oti Region, police have confirmed.
The suspect, identified as Innocent Owusu, was arrested following intelligence-led operations after the incident occurred on 30 December 2025. Police said Owusu fled the scene after the alleged crime but was later traced and apprehended at a hideout in a forest area near Abrani.
The deceased, Peter Owusu, aged 59, was found dead at the family residence. Police recovered the body and transported it to the Hohoe Government Hospital morgue, where it has been preserved pending autopsy.
Owusu is currently in police custody assisting with investigations, as efforts continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Oti Regional Police Command commended residents of Likpe Abrani for their swift cooperation, which contributed to the suspect’s arrest. The command also extended condolences to the bereaved family and assured the public of its commitment to justice and community safety.
