The Presidential Election Committee of the New Patriotic Party has called on former president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to present a comprehensive report on activities undertaken in planning and executing the party’s presidential primary scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 31.
The committee visited the former president’s office on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure accountability and transparency in the internal electoral process.
According to the party, the committee’s work so far has been “impressive,” citing key milestones achieved under a strict zero-tolerance approach to opacity. Party officials said the measures adopted have strengthened transparency and safeguarded the integrity of the primary process.

The NPP said the emphasis on openness and procedural discipline is intended to reinforce confidence among party members ahead of the presidential contest, as preparations intensify toward the Jan. 31 vote.
