Media personality and Digital Marketing Executive, Israel Laryea has addressed the social media storm surrounding a viral post by his wife, Louisa, emphasising the importance of context and online interpretation.
In a Facebook post, Laryea explained that he and Louisa had discussed the post extensively, helping her understand that “there’s one thing about what you say and another about how people interpret it.” He noted that while individuals may speak freely, they cannot always control how messages are received or how others may spin them to fit their own narrative.
Louisa clarified that her post was never intended to body-shame anyone and that she did not imply that public figure Lily Mohammed had undergone cosmetic procedures. “If Lily felt offended, sorry, but that was definitely not the intention,” she said.
Laryea also responded to online commentary targeting his marriage and his wife’s appearance, defending Louisa and highlighting her resilience, particularly as a mother of three at age 52.
He urged “friends” who participated in the trolling to seek context privately, rather than fuel online attacks, and reiterated that he personally does not engage in trolling.
The couple emphasised understanding, empathy, and communication as essential in navigating public discourse, concluding with a personal note of affection: “And to you, Louisa, I love you always.”
