The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Election Committee, Joseph Osei Owusu, has commended the Ghana Police Service for its role in ensuring a peaceful conduct of the party’s recent presidential primary election.

Mr Osei Owusu, accompanied by members of the committee, paid a courtesy call on the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and the Police Management Board at the Police Headquarters on Tuesday. He praised the Police for comprehensive security arrangements and the professionalism demonstrated by officers across the country before, during and after the primaries.

He said the visible police presence, effective coordination and neutral posture of personnel helped maintain calm and boosted public confidence throughout the internal electoral process.

Mr Yohuno expressed appreciation for the visit and the recognition, describing it as encouragement for the Service. He reaffirmed the Ghana Police Service’s commitment to its constitutional mandate to protect lives and property and to support democratic processes through disciplined, impartial and professional policing nationwide.
