The police in the Eastern Region have arrested two students who are said to have been involved in the gang-rape of a student of Osino Senior High School during the inter-schools competition.
The incident is said to have happened near the Koforidua Sports Stadium, where the sports competition took place.
According to the Eastern Regional Police Command, the two students have admitted involvement in the crime while a third, believed to be an old student, is on the run.
The victim is currently receiving medical treatment at the Eastern Regional Central Hospital in Koforidua and is in a stable condition.
The police have assured that the suspects will be arraigned before court for the crime.
