Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has filed a fresh suit against the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, and the Chief Executive of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Eric Adjei.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP had discontinued his suit against Mr Adjei at the Achimota Circuit Court on Tuesday, October 20 while the one against Sammy Gyamfi at the High Court was thrown out over failure to endorse the writ of summons.
On Tuesday, lawyer Paa Kwesi Abaidoo of Behyena Chambers indicated that his client has instructed him to file a suit at the Accra High Court on defamatory statements made on Peace FM by Mr Adjei.
“Again, on the firm instructions of Osahen Afenyo-Markin, another writ, Suit No. GJ/0045/2027, was filed on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at the Accra High Court against Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, Chief Executive of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), regarding defamatory statements made by Mr. Gyamfi during the Government Accountability Series and on JOY FM’s Newsfile programme,” a press release issued by Mr Abaidoo said.
The statement expressed disagreement with the High Court’s decision on Wednesday, October 14 to set aside his previous writ, stressing that “this new writ has been issued against the Defendants in accordance with the Court’s latest interpretation of the rules”.
“The mills of justice grind slowly but with great surety,” it concluded.
