The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced that all travellers arriving in Ghana will be required to complete a Mandatory Health Declaration Form, effective Thursday, November 12.
In a press release dated Saturday, November 7 and signed by the Director General, Dr. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, the Service said the directive follows a recent announcement by the Minister of Health.
According to the GHS, all passengers travelling to Ghana must complete the form online at ehds.ghs.gov.gh/declaration before embarking on their journey.
The Service explained that the measure is intended to strengthen Ghana’s public health surveillance and preparedness systems, enhance the monitoring of potential public health risks, and safeguard the health and well-being of both residents and visitors.
Travellers have been strongly advised to complete and submit the form prior to departure.
Airlines, travel agencies and other relevant stakeholders have also been encouraged to bring the requirement to the attention of passengers and ensure that travellers are adequately informed ahead of their journeys.
The GHS urged all travellers to comply with the directive to facilitate a smooth travel process and support the country’s efforts to protect public health.
The Service thanked travellers and stakeholders for their cooperation and understanding.
