Sixty-eight students have graduated with employable skills from the Pentecost Skills Development Center (PSDC) at Teshie Nungua in Accra.

The students who form the second batch of trainees from the Center which was established three years ago, graduated in catering, cosmetology, fashion and ICT.

Three outstanding students were awarded for their distinguish performance while each graduating Students received three certificates from The Church of Pentecost, NVTI and COTVET.

Chief Executive of PSDC, Deaconess Cynthia Araba Siaw Agyepong, said the Center since its inception empowered young people with employable skills to start their own business.

That, she explained, is helping the beneficiaries to unearth their potential to who they want to be in future.

She commended the graduates for successfully completing their courses, and urged them to use skills they have acquired to be responsible citizens.

Deaconess Siaw Agyepong expressed happiness about the milestone the Center has chalked and thanked the immediate Past Area head and wife, Prophet James Osei and Georgina Amaniampong for the support to the Centre over the years.

She was also grateful to Apostle Dr. Alfred Koduah for also supporting the Centre.

Teshie Nungua Church of Pentecost Area Head, Apostle Dr. Alfred Koduah stressed the need for parents to educate their children, saying, “Education is very important and if Christians want to break the cycle of poverty, then there is the need to educate our children.”

He cited the story of king Nebuchadnezzar in the Bible who specifically instructed his chief of staff, Ashpenaz to educate Daniel and his three friends in the language and literature of Babylonians.

Apostle Koduah encouraged Christians not to delight in poverty but to strive to educate their children so they can compete with others in this postmodern era.

He also urged the grandaunts to work with their skills and not stay at home waiting to be employed by the government.

Chair of the Pentecost Skills Development Center, Elder Adu said the board of the school will ensure that the school becomes self-sustained and well accredited in the country.

He also urged the graduating students to exhibit their skills and be good ambassadors of the school.

“The purpose of this training you have received is for you to work with it, help the local, District and the area to benefit from your skills,” Deputy Women’s Director for the church of Pentecost, Deaconess Margaret Osei told the grandaunts.

She urged them to exhibit truthfulness and integrity in their dealings since that will draw more customers to them, adding “make noise about the Skills Development Center.”

MP for Ledzokuku, Bernard Oko – Boye, thanked the leadership of the church for establishing the school, noting “The church of Pentecost has really invested in the lives of young people.”

He observed people mostly associate with others because of favours they will get, but said those who give skills, come to the aid of the needy, and give financial assistance are the true lovers of the government.

“The best way to love people is to make them fishers of men and this is what Pentecost has done.” He said. He was of the view that the School will be one of the most sought out vocational schools in the country.
