Agotime Ziope District in the Volta Region, has once again demonstrated unity and consensus, as all 22 Assembly Members, unanimously confirmed the President’s nominee, Alfred Klu Odikro, as the District Chief Executive (DCE) on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

The confirmation, took place during a special assembly session, marked by excitement and optimism for the district’s future.
Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, shared his delight over the development in a post on his Facebook page.

“I am delighted to share the great news that Agotime Ziope District has once again demonstrated unity and consensus as all 22 Assembly Members unanimously confirmed the President’s nominee, Hon. Alfred Klu Odikro, as the District Chief Executive (DCE),” he wrote.

He highlighted the smooth voting process as a reflection of the Assembly Members’ confidence in Odikro’s leadership and vision for development.
“The seamless voting process underscores the Assembly Members’ confidence in Hon. Odikro’s leadership and vision for development. His nomination and subsequent endorsement align with the government’s efforts to strengthen local governance and accelerate growth in the district,” he added.

Mr Gunu, who was present at the event, commended the Assembly for their unity and commitment to development and urged the new DCE to collaborate with all stakeholders to address challenges and maximise available resources.

“I was honoured to be present at this momentous occasion and commended the Assembly for their unity and commitment to the development agenda. I urge the new DCE to work closely with all stakeholders to address key challenges and leverage available resources for the district’s advancement,” he stated.

Expressing optimism about the district’s prospects under the new DCE’s leadership, Mr Gunu noted that Odikro’s tenure is expected to bring transformative development, especially in key sectors.

“The people of Agotime Ziope have high expectations, and I have no doubt that Odikro’s tenure will bring transformative development, particularly in infrastructure, education, and agriculture—sectors crucial to the district’s growth.”

Odikro’s confirmation is seen as a step forward in fostering local governance and driving sustainable development in Agotime Ziope.
