In a remarkable celebration of innovation and leadership, Mr Moses Baiden, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Margins ID Group, has been awarded the prestigious Industry Innovation Excellence Award at the 2025 Millennium Excellence Awards (MEA).

This marks his third consecutive recognition, following earlier honours for Technology and Innovation in 2015 and the coveted “Man of the Year” award in 2022.

Held every five years and presided over by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, the Millennium Excellence Awards are among Ghana’s most esteemed accolades.

They recognise individuals whose contributions significantly shape the nation’s socio-economic and political development. This year’s ceremony highlighted Mr Baiden’s transformative impact in the fields of digital identity and technology.

Accepting the award on his behalf, the company’s Deputy CEO, Mr Kwesi Baiden, reaffirmed Margins ID Group’s commitment to leveraging technology to build secure, scalable, and inclusive identification platforms.

He described the award as a testament to the Group’s unwavering pursuit of excellence in delivering innovative, locally driven solutions tailored for African markets.

Mr Kwesi Baiden, emphasised the company’s proud African identity, noting that Margins is powered by local talent and is dedicated to reshaping the continent’s digital future.

He described Mr Moses Baiden’s recognition as a defining moment in Ghana’s technological evolution, cementing his status as a visionary leader who is expanding the boundaries of what is possible through homegrown innovation.

The 2025 Millennium Excellence Award adds to Mr Baiden’s growing list of accolades, including recent honours such as Ghana’s Greatest Digital ID Technology Executive and Overall Best CEO in 2024.

However, this latest distinction uniquely acknowledges the systemic and structural changes inspired by his leadership.

Margins ID Group, a wholly Ghanaian-owned enterprise, has emerged as Sub-Saharan Africa’s largest certified identity solutions provider, having evolved from modest beginnings into a global benchmark. Its flagship innovation—the Ghana Card—is internationally recognised as a leading example of secure and inclusive digital identity, serving as a cornerstone of Ghana’s broader digital transformation strategy.

Under Mr Baiden’s leadership, the entire ecosystem supporting the Ghana Card has been conceived, designed, and implemented by Ghanaians. This stands as a powerful symbol of technological sovereignty in a region often reliant on foreign systems.

Catherine Morton, Executive Director of Eve International, praised Margins ID Group for its pioneering work, comparing the company to innovation hubs in Silicon Valley. She commended its ability to create secure identity solutions that meet—and often exceed—global standards while being finely tuned to Africa’s unique needs.

Beyond technological achievements, Mr Baiden’s leadership has catalysed broader reforms in governance and the economy.

Integration of the Ghana Card across various sectors has improved public service delivery, strengthened accountability, and increased participation in the formal economy.

Margins ID Group, also plays a vital role in nurturing the next generation of Ghanaian tech professionals.

Mr Baiden’s leadership ethos prioritises human capital development, redefining the role of the private sector in Africa’s development agenda.

For Mr Baiden, receiving the Industry Innovation Excellence Award transcends personal achievement.

It reflects Ghana’s potential to lead in high-tech sectors traditionally dominated by global powers and reinforces the conviction that Africa can solve its own challenges through local innovation and expertise.

Mr Moses Baiden’s journey exemplifies the belief that lasting transformation stems from vision, integrity, and trust in local capacity. His achievements challenge the assumption that innovation must be imported, proving instead that Africa’s digital future can be imagined, engineered, and led from within.

As Ghana advances towards a fully digitised economy, Mr Baiden and Margins ID Group, remain at the forefront of this evolution—shaping national progress and inspiring future generations of entrepreneurs and policymakers across the continent.

The 2025 Millennium Excellence Award is not merely a personal accolade; it is a celebration of Ghanaian excellence, African ingenuity, and the boundless potential of homegrown solutions to global challenges.
