Some students and alumni of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have embarked on a peaceful march in the Central Region to demand the reinstatement of some sacked lecturers.
Their march on Wednesday is also aimed at calling for the head of the Vice Chancellor, Rev. Prof Anthony Afful-Broni.
This action comes in the wake of happenings in the school, leading to its shutdown.
Some of the placards held by the protestors read: ‘Bring Back Our Lecturers’, ‘President Akufo-Addo Act Now’, ‘Afful-Broni Y’abre wo’ and ‘VC Must Go’.
It was amidst brass band music on the principal streets of Cape Coast, starting from Mfantsipim School.



At the end of the protest walk, the demonstrators, under the name Concerned Students and Alumni of UEW, presented a petition to the Central Region Minister, Kwamena Duncan.
