The Black Queens are set to participate in a four-nation tournament in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) dubbed Pink Ladies Cup. Th tournament is scheduled to be held in from Saturday, February 28 to Friday, March 6. Among the nations set to participate are Ghana, Russia, Hong Kong and Tanzania. The Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF), Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, has assured Ghanaians that no region will be left out of the Fund’s ongoing 50-case pilot programme. Ahead of its official rollout in April, the GMTF is currently sponsoring the treatment of 50 complex cases drawn from across the country. An Amasaman High Court has reduced the 15-year jail term handed Evangelist Patricia Asiedu Oduro Kwarteng, formerly popularly called Nana Agradaa. She was initially sentenced to 15 years imprisonment on two counts of defrauding by false pretence. Mama Pat, as she is now affectionately called, was ordered, then, by the court to serve the two concurrently. On Thursday, February 5, her appeal was heard and the sentence was reduced to 12 months plus a fine.
President John Dramani Mahama has announced government’s plans to lay before Parliament the Divestiture of Public Property Bill. The object of the Bill is to legally govern the sale, transfer, or privatization of state-owned assets in order to improve economic efficiency.
