Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders has condemned Russia for its reported attempts to help his campaign, telling it to “stay out of American elections”. Mr Sanders said on Friday that US officials had told him last month about Russian efforts to aid his campaign. Former Executive Director of Standard Chartered Bank Alex Mould has challenged the Resident Representative of International Monetary Fund (IMF) claim that Ghana’s debt servicing ratio to revenue for 2019 was around 30 percent. According to the financial expert, the figure quoted by the IMF rep was not accurate. “It should rather be approximately 60 per cent,” the former banker noted. He calculated that based on Ministry of Finance’s data on Ghana’s 2019 Fiscals released in February 2020. Police in Ho have rescued 14 children trafficked from Tatale in the Northern Region to Adjena, near Akosombo in the Eastern Region, to work on vegetable farms. The children, eleven boys and three girls, aged 10 to 16, were rescued in transit at Juapong in the Volta Region on February 07. A press release from the Regional Police Command said the traffickers; Owusu Dever, 42, and Ndonda Nakoja, 74, were standing trial in a Ho Circuit Court. The release said investigations showed that parents of the children would receive GH¢2,000.00 on each child, a year, for working on the farm.…

Lesotho’s Prime Minister Thomas Thabane, 80, is to be charged with the murder of his estranged wife Lipolelo Thabane, police have said. Mr Thabane announced he would be stepping down in July because of old age, without commenting about the case. His current wife Maesaiah Thabane has already been charged with the murder. He would be the first African leader to be charged with a domestic murder while in office, in a case that has shocked the tiny mountain kingdom.
