The Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF), Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, has assured Ghanaians that no region will be left out of the Fund’s ongoing 50-case pilot programme. An Amasaman High Court has reduced the 15-year jail term handed Evangelist Patricia Asiedu Oduro Kwarteng, formerly popularly called Nana Agradaa. She was initially sentenced to 15 years imprisonment on two counts of defrauding by false pretence. Mama Pat, as she is now affectionately called, was ordered, then, by the court to serve the two concurrently. The object of the Bill is to legally govern the sale, transfer, or privatization of state-owned assets in order to improve economic efficiency. Ghana’s economy continues to enjoy positive inflationary impact as January recorded a further decline in the year-on-year rate. From 5.4 percent recorded in December, 2024, Government Statistician Dr Alhassan Iddrisu announced that January recorded an inflation of 3.8 percent. According to Dr Iddrisu, the figure is the lowest since rebasing of the Consumer Price Index in 2021. “In plain language, this means that on the average, prices were 3.8% higher in January 2026 than they were in January 2025.” The new figure marks the 13th consecutive monthly decline in inflation in Ghana. “When we compare this figure to the same…
