Officials in San Francisco have proposed a new law to ban e-cigarette sales until their health effects are evaluated by the US government. The law appears to be the first of its kind in the US and seeks to curb a rising usage by young people. Critics, however, say it will make it harder for people to kick addiction. The coach of Cameroonian first division club Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda, Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso who was kidnapped on 19 March has been released. A club official confirmed that coach Bosso was abducted while driving to the team’s base for training. “Coach Bosso was freed last night and is now with his family” Yong Sports spokesperson Wanchia Cynthia confirmed to BBC Sport “There wasn’t any ransom paid and we don’t know why he was kidnapped. “We believe pressure from the fans and the media played a huge role in our coach getting released” Bosso, who won the 2013 Cameroon Cup…

Former Black Starlets coach Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin will handle the Ugandan national Under-17 team in their maiden campaign at the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations. The East Africans qualified from the Central-East Zone as winners after beating Ethiopia 3-1 in the final last year. They will play in a familiar country, Tanzania, where they achieved last year’s feat. Former Black Stars striker Kwame Ayew is among appointees of the Normalisation Committee for the Player Status Committee. Ayew, the brother of former Africa Best Player Abedi Pele, is one of the three members of the Committee. Ishak Alhassan will be chairman of that committee while Ashford Tettey Oku will be his vice. Sylvester Mensah and Cornelius Otoo are the other members. On Saturday, 16 March 2019, the Embassy of Israel climaxed its weeklong cultural dance festival, dubbed Israel-Ghana Dance Bridges with a stunning performance titled ‘YE SI GESHER’ to wit, we built a Bridge. This choreographic piece was the result of intense master class collaboration between Israeli Choreographer Oded Ronen, the Dance Students of the University of Ghana, the National Dance Company, the Great African Heritage Ensemble and the Ghana Dance Ensemble. It was bound to end at some point but there will be many who followed Kotoko’s Africa Cup campaign who will be asking legitimate questions about why it has had to end now. Defeat in Zambia against ZESCO United cut short the club’s participation in the CAF Confederations Cup amidst a sense that Kotoko put their best foot forward and did the best they could. Ghana and Guinea are set to begin discussions for bilateral cooperation in bauxite industry development, similar to the trade cooperation between Ghana and Ivory Coast in the Cocoa sector. A week after her maiden official trip to the Northern Region for the March 6 Independence Day celebration, U.S. Ambassador Stephanie S. As part of measures to eradicate or minimize corruption at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA), and by extension other airports in Ghana, the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has posted warning notices in almost all offices at its facilities. The notices are to warn workers to stay away from taking bribes from clients, thereby impeding the free flow of services. The notices with inscriptions such as ‘We do not condone extortion at the airports’ and ‘All we accept is thank you’ come with the logo of the Ghana Airports Company Limited and it is written in blue-black and red colours.…
